Cody represents award-winning and bestselling authors of literary fiction and nonfiction. He joined CookeMcDermid in 2022 after starting his publishing career at Transatlantic Agency.
Cody’s first book, Half-Bads in White Regalia, came out through And Other Stories in the UK in 2026 and Penguin Canada’s Hamish Hamilton imprint in 2022. It was an instant national bestseller in Canada and won two Indigenous Voices Awards.
Since 2018, Cody has contributed to the literary community through talks, workshops, and programming. He’s recently served as the Writer-in-Residence for the University of Alberta and the Whistler Writers Festival, and completed multiple residencies at the Berton House and the Banff Centre for the Arts. He’s adjudicated writing for the Indigenous Voices Awards, The Fiddlehead, and The Ex-Puritan, and has served on the Board of Directors for the Toronto International Festival of Authors and the Word on the Street Advisory Committee. He holds an MA in English in the field of Creative Writing and a BA in English and Professional Writing & Communication from the University of Toronto.
Cody is Anishinaabe, Portuguese, and an off-reserve member of Pinaymootang First Nation. He lives in Toronto.
