Roza Nozari is a Toronto-based visual artist and writer. She is most known for her affirmation art and writings on social media under the name “YallaRoza.” Much of her work is informed by her lived experiences as a tender-hearted queer and Muslim femme of colour. Weaving together words and visuals, she tells stories of wounding, of healing, of community, and radical self-love.

Her art is a radical re-framing of human emotions and experiences through the lens of feminism, anti-racism, and more broadly, anti-oppression. She brings radical compassion to emotions that are often deemed “ugly feelings:” our sadness, anger, shame, and grief, amongst others. She strives to create art that feels like love letters to queer and trans communities. Her work has been featured in magazines, blogs and news articles, including CBC, Queerty and Elle Magazine.

Roza is represented by Stephanie Sinclair.
