We are so thrilled to welcome Neil Price to CookeMcDermid! He is represented by Suzanne Brandreth.
Neil Price is a writer, researcher, educator, and art critic whose work explores how institutions shape the health and lives of Black communities, and how they in turn cultivate strategies of resistance, care, and survival. Drawing on the Black Radical Tradition and Black feminist theory, his writing traces the everyday consequences of institutional racism across healthcare, higher education, food systems, and the criminal justice system.
He is a regular contributor to the Globe and Mail, Toronto Star, and The Conversation, where he writes about policing, anti Black racism, community building, and education. As an essayist and art critic, his work appears in Frieze, Momus, Hyperallergic, Ocula, Hazlitt, Studio Magazine, BlackFlash, and Canadian Art. A former reviews editor at the Humber Literary Review, he also hosts the art podcast In/Tension.
Neil holds a PhD in Adult Education and Community Development from the University of Toronto, He’s working on his first book, On the Outside, a memoir in essays. He lives in Whitby, Ontario.
