Welcome to CMD, Andre Gee!

We are so thrilled to welcome Andre Gee to CookeMcDermid! He is represented by Ron Eckel.

Andre Gee is a leading critical voice in hip-hop journalism today. A staff writer for venerated music publication, Rolling Stone, Andre worked his way up through the hip-hop media landscape via his sharp analysis and fearless reporting for publications including Complex, VIBE, Okayplayer, and many others. Andre has interviewed the who’s who of contemporary rap—from Snoop to Lil Wayne to Nas—without ever forgetting the less lauded heroes of the culture. Andre has become a go-to voice for insight into hip-hop and politics, earning him air-time on MSNBC and NPR to talk that talk. Throughout Andre’s decade-plus career as a rap critic and journalist, he has dared to delve into dark corners of the rap and music industry and his definitive dissections of rap’s move towards MAGA, the influence of the manosphere, and the flawed politics of hip-hop capitalism have brought attention to pivotal but underexposed issues and changed the cultural conversation in hip-hop. Andre lives in Brooklyn.
