Literary Agent Amy Moore-Benson to join CookeMcDermid Literary Management

We are delighted to announce that Amy Moore-Benson has joined CookeMcDermid as Literary Agent.

Amy has a stellar reputation internationally amongst authors and editors alike. We have long been impressed by her keen understanding of the market, her editorial eye, her dedication to client care, and by her warmth and good humor. We’re thrilled that Amy has chosen CookeMcDermid as her new publishing home.

Amy’s list is primarily focused on commercial fiction and narrative non-fiction: domestic thrillers, high-concept suspense, romance, voice-driven women’s fiction, memoir, ripped-from-the-headlines narratives, and personal investigations.

At CookeMcDermid, Amy will continue to build her list of authors of adult fiction and non-fiction, seeking books from singular voices and high-impact storytelling, stories that challenge the reader, offer new experiences and above all else, entertain and engage.

Amy began her career in publishing at 17, when she worked for the magazine Passion in Paris. After graduating from McGill University, she spent 13 years at Harlequin Enterprises, where she launched and acquired commercial fiction for MIRA Books, before she turned her attention to representing a stellar roster of authors, both in Canada and the US. Most recently she worked in the books department at Meridian Artists, where she deepened her connections in the entertainment world.

Amy says: “My colleagues at CookeMcDermid have been friends for years and I’ve long admired the dynamic agency they’ve built. I’m thrilled to be working with them!”

We’re thrilled to be welcoming Amy to the agency, where she will be working out of our Toronto office.
