Sally Harding Announces Retirement

Sally Harding, one of the founding partners of CookeMcDermid Literary Management, has announced her retirement.

Saying farewell has been bittersweet (and teary-eyed), but we are forever grateful for the decades with our bold, brilliant, generous, determinedly optimistic, and spread sheet-loving visionary friend, colleague, and mentor.

Sally began her career as a bookseller in her home town of Wellington, New Zealand. She moved to Melbourne, Australia, to do a post-grad degree in publishing, and quickly realized it was the role of the author advocate that spoke to her. Her next stop was Canada, and in 2005 she started The Harding Agency, later to merge with The Cooke Agency, and then become CookeMcDermid.

Her clients have won numerous awards, sold tens of millions of copies, appeared on major international bestseller lists, and had their works translated in up to 50 languages.
