Hazel Jane Plante is a librarian, cat photographer, and writer. Her debut novel LITTLE BLUE ENCYCLOPEDIA (FOR VIVIAN) was given a Lambda Literary award and was a finalist for both a Publishing Triangle award and a BC and Yukon Book Prize. She also releases music under the name lo-fi lioness and helms the podcast t4t, which is about writing while trans.

Hazel is currently refining her novel-in-progress ANY OTHER CITY, which uses two intertwined novellas to unfold the story of Tracy, a fledgling visual artist (at 20) and a semi-famous trans femme musician (at 46). Set in an unnamed labyrinthine city, the novel is about art making, being in a body across time, friendship (and other forms of love), transmuting trauma, and queer sex.

Hazel is represented by Stephanie Sinclair.
