Canadian English & French rights to Neil Smith’s RED ROVER RED ROVER
Random House Canada’s Sarah Jackson has acquired the Canadian English rights to Neil Smith’s next novel RED ROVER RED ROVER, a gripping historical gothic set in the mid-60s. The novel, which is Smith’s love letter to the fiction of Shirley Jackson (and full of easter eggs), follows the seemingly plain twenty-one-year-old secretary Anne Tether whose life changes instantly when she moves a paperclip with her mind.
French rights have also been acquired by Marie-Hélène Gendron at Éditions Alto, to be published simultaneously with the English-language edition. The Random House deal was arranged by Ron Eckel at CookeMcDermid and the French deal arranged by Carolyn Buszynski at CookeMcDermid on behalf of Ron Eckel. (rights@cookemcdermid.com)"
