Fiona Foster's THE CAPTIVE, a feminist noir set in a secessionist rural state, about a woman who finds a dangerous fugitive hiding in her shed, beats and binds him, and travels miles through the woods with her family in tow in order to collect the bounty on his head, and to protect her children from the trauma of her past, sold to Zack Wagman at Ecco, by Lisa Rundle at Harper Canada, and to Jennifer Lambert at Harper Canada, in a good deal, at auction, by Martha Webb at CookeMcDermid (NA).
